What has been going on in my life this summer

This past summer has been hard. Can't really out my finger on one thing. There were just countless things. I finished up the play The Music Man in which I was one of the Pic-a-little ladies and my mom played Mrs. Paroo. This play brought back memories from High School. My senior year we did this and I was a Pic-a-little lady in that too. Oh and to make it more odd was I had the same lines as I did 17 years prior. My mom did such a good job with her part. She even did a fabulous Irish accent. The downfall was that as in the past we had time backstage to be together whereas during this one we saw each other only in passing. We also closed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I was one of the wives and was the angel in the hoedown song. That was fun. It showed people that I have a voice.

In early September we buried my maternal Grandma. The Thursday before Labor Day I went to the nursing home where she was and visited for just a bit. I remember she was sleeping and was laughing in her sleep and calling out to her mom. When she woke she looked at me and said "Love April" That one phrase brought tears to my eyes and such love for someone who was always there for me when I needed it. Then the Sunday before Labor Day my uncle called and said that there wasn't much time left. After such a long seeming battle she finally passed on Labor Day. There were other details of that day that are just to precious to share. I am just glad that she will be part of my eternal family and I will see her again.

The next play we are doing is A Grand Night for Singing. I have two song solos and then little snippets in two other songs. I am still waiting to like this one. My double is the worst one I have ever had. She made me miss Zoey's 4th birthday party because she was selfish. She said she wanted to go to her wards talent show that they do every six months. No one at the theater could believe that she would do that. That is the lamest excuse. Her others were that she is singing in church. I asked to switch a couple of Sunday's with me because one of them I am teaching the Relief Society lesson and she was all " I am singing that day" My ass. No one sings solos every freaking Sunday. She is pissed because she didn't put the Chorale Christmas concert dates as conflict dates when she auditioned and I won't trade with her. I have also heard that she wants me to trade her so I do the show on News Years Eve instead of her. Well too bad. I have plans for that night.

One of the happy things is that I have been chosen to work on a special project at work that I will be responsible from here on out. Hopefully it will include more money because I need that right now more than anything. I know that money doesn't buy happiness but it sure make paying bills on time a whole lot easier.
