My blood pressure got so high at work I got a terible headache. They really need to do something for the residents that are FREAKING NUTS!!!!!!!!!! Today was going all good until about the last hour. One resident in particular was driving me MAD! While I was charting he kept wanting me to show him how to use the bathroom. He was mad because there was another room that shared his bathroom. He kept trying to tell me that there were people watching while he was in there. I explained to him that that wasn't the case. He kept bumping into the wall and then yell at me to stop getting in his way. I wasn't. The seat that is in there is raised a little. He kept tripping over that too. Oh forgot to mention that this man is BLIND and is still walking around without using a cane. Crazy.... Anyway, he kept arguing with me so I just walked away and continued arguing. The good thing about arguing with a blind person is they can't tell when you leave the room. Later on the administrator was in there trying to explain to him too. Only when he opened the door to the bathroom for him he hit his head on the door. Whoops. He had to walk out too. You would not believe how many times I had to tell him to sit down on his bed. I went and got the nurse to see if she could give him some adovan or something to calm his agitation down but he was so worked up he wouldn't take it. And since it is against the law to hide it in a drink we had to suffer. This is the same resident who two days prior came walking out of his room in all his glory. He thought he was dressed. The man had on socks and shoes, and his hat and glasses hanging around his neck. NOTHING ELSE! I took him back in his room and set up his clothes so he could get dressed. 20 minutes later he is standing in the doorway with nothing on the bottom but shoes and socks. Had to take him back in and help him put his pants on. He said he had his pants on. My response was, " Unless your pants are see through you don't have any on." His response, " Well who all saw me?" Four CNA's and two nurses. But I didn't tell him that. Boy if I am suppose to be learning a lesson in patience these two days have sure tried it.
